Chamba
A large and geographically varied district extending from the Ravi basin into the remote valleys toward Pangi. Thach’s initial research here focuses on Churah and the inner valleys of Pangi.
Lahaul & Spiti
A high-altitude region of broad river valleys, glacier-fed side valleys and villages separated by long winter conditions. Thach’s first research here centres on the Miyar Valley beyond Udaipur.
Shimla
The forested middle Himalayas around Shimla district, extending into orchard country, ridge settlements and quieter slopes beyond the main hill-station circuit.
