Researching
Kugti and Tundah form a real wilderness corridor — forested lower villages rising to alpine terrain that supports tahr, musk deer, ibex and documented snow leopard habitat. The Manimahesh pilgrimage brings concentrated crowds through part of this corridor at certain times of year; we want to operate around those dates, in the villages, away from the pilgrim traffic.

Who it's for
This is for you if
  • You want serious wildlife value and high-pass trekking without the pilgrimage crowds
  • You’re comfortable travelling outside major pilgrimage dates so we can keep this quiet
  • You’re here for village culture and natural history as much as the trek itself
Wait if
  • You’re set on travelling during the Manimahesh pilgrimage window — this isn’t designed around those dates
  • You need a confirmed stay today — this is still a research-stage corridor
  • You want a short, easy add-on — the routes here are long and high
What we know so far
🛣Getting there
Via Bharmour into the Kugti and Tundah sanctuaries; road ends at the village, the rest is on foot with a guide.
🏡Where to stay today
Village homestays exist along the approach — none inspected by us, and none yet paired with a guided walking product.
Setting
Forested lower elevations rising to alpine terrain and high passes, with documented tahr, musk deer, ibex and snow leopard habitat.
🔍Still to verify
Which village can anchor a guided, off-pilgrimage-season product — this is early-stage research.
Why this isn’t a bookable stay yet

This is a guided wilderness region, not a simple homestay booking. It may involve permits, certified guides, and conservation rules that vary by season and route. We won’t list a stay here, or say a route is open, until we’ve confirmed it directly with the relevant authorities and walked it ourselves.
